Upload Verification

(Build 1051)

Back to Contents

Upload verification makes sure that any data uploaded to the storage provider is consistent. It does this by re-downloading any uploaded files and verifying that the downloaded content matches what was uploaded.

When upload verification is enabled, an equal amount of download bandwidth is consumed for every byte that's uploaded.

When creating a drive, if verify chunk integrity is checked, then any corruption to your data in the cloud will be detected at download time. But at that point, the original data will be gone. Upload verification ensures that any errors due to the transmission and the saving of your data at the storage provider can still be corrected while the original data is still available.

Upload verification doesn't consume any download threads to perform the verification. Instead, it uses existing upload threads, as configured in I/O Performance > Threads.
